Keep Your Day Job, Don't Give It Away.... yawn.

For the umpteenth time, I post:

Hunter, in his Box of Rain, notes that

"This song was dropped from the Grateful Dead repertoire at the request of fans. Seriously."

Well, as usual I'm late on this . I find varying the years helps some burn out on songs . Also it depends my mood . For instance , Lovelight can annoy me, "Pigpen macho bullshit, all that booze , he probably couldn,t get it up" ... as one sage told me ; other times I really like it .
I sometimes just make "highlights", or"pruned" cds . What would I toss out ? Well most of the time I don't do this with pre 77 shows , though I have taken 2 71,side by side shows, tossed out the repeats to make a best of both nights .
Now with later stuff, I the show isn't stellar, I will mostly cut Bobby tunes, LL Rain, Throwing Stones, Rooster, cowboy tunes, Good Lovin( I hate the "Jimmy Buffet" style the adopted for the song ) ,unless they are particularly good .
Sometimes lame versions of Jerry tunes.
If the show is great, I keep the whole thing ( inc Samba In the Rain).
And yes Casey Jones is a "take a piss " song .
